The refurbishment of the 1970s ‘Brutalist’ structure that houses the University’s Enterprise Zone was a big improvement. But it was still an unprepossessing space that did little to promote the groundbreaking work going on inside.
We were asked to promote to visiting academics and potential partners from industry the five engineering specialisms that made up the Zone. We used a combination of different display media to communicate the breadth and depth of their expertise.
An illustrated timeline starting in 1856 now winds its way up the stairs. And the waiting area uses slow motion graphics to highlight commercial research work and its impact.
Stretching the brief, we went on to specify the lighting just to be sure everything was perfectly coordinated.
